Remove my frets?

Just wanted everyones thoughts on whether i should make the bass im moding a frettless or keep the only ungl worn down frets.
changes so far have been taken out old passive **** and replaced (almost finished) with bart 3 band pre,
Battery box hole routed
sanded back from dark red to stained red grainy timber,
taken most of gold away from origional hardware with abrasive pad to leave silvery/gold/antiqued kinda look,
gonna finish with poly finish on body and depending on how it looks probabily the neck aswell.. and some other things i cant thinkk of but yea.
main question is fretless or fretted?

main question is fretless or fretted?

Only you can answer that. What do you want the instrument to be? Do you want it fretless? Then pull the frets and do the conversion. Do you want it fretted? Then it sounds like it needs a fret job anyway....

You can make your own set of radius gauges out of stiff cardboard, using a compass or a piece of string to draw arcs of various diameters. Start with 10", 12", 16", cut them out, and see how they fit against your fretboard. Adjust the diameter as needed until you get a good fit.
