Removing amp from combo, using cab with new head

Hey all,
I have an old Yorkville combo that died on me awhile ago. Tonight, I had the idea of going straight from my new GK head through to the speaker in this old combo, bypassing the Yorkville amp section. Aside from matching ohms/impedance/whathaveyou, how difficult is this? I.E. what sort of rewiring would I have to do?

It doesn't involve much wiring, basically you just need to wire the speaker wires to a new output jack. If your lucky the speaker wires will just be connected with clips that you can just clip on to the new output jack... if your not then you'll have to disconnect the wires from where ever it is connected and solder the two wires to the new jack.... not too big of a deal. Then you'll just need to figure out where the output jack will go.

Excellent. Thanks again for the help. Mcrelly, I have an old Bloc 80B combo. It was my first "real" amp; I got it in...92' or 93'.

I did the same thing w/ an old Peavey TNT. removed the amp section, wired the pos. lead to the tip and the neg. to the ring of an imput jack, and mounted it in a backplate. cut a hole in the back of the cab for the backplate. . It makes a great little 15'" cab.

Curious...I'm not getting any sound out of the speaker. I'll have to fiddle around more with it tomorrow.
