removing fretboards

I want to remove the fret board from my MIM fender bass neck, well i want to try to steam it off in the shower, is there anyway to to do that easiely, as soon as im done with this im going to install fret lights

I JUST MESSED UP.

I was doing well then the fretboard snaps in half, how can i get the rest off and find a new board?

I saw Carl Thompson do it on youtube with an iron, but it was probably a slab board, I'm not sure if that matters.

aww comon it wasn't like it was worth anything, it was just lying round the shop, and i tried something then failed, but i did succeed and getting the rest off, and i just ordered some more rosewood to redo the board,

i havnt heard hecho-caster yet, is it like tacofender?

It's far too late now I know, but a heat gun and a putty knife is how I do it.

No problems.

Alcool and heat (even a big lamp) could do but it will take time.
Or you could simply plane it off slowly.

For the most part yes, if it's a channeled dual action, if it's a single action in a curved channel with a fillet, NO. Most Fenders are done from the rear, thus the reason for the walnut strip, thus they are even harder to replace.
