Removing MarkBass Logo

Waxed dental floss works, too. I've used it to remove those plastic stick-on car dealership logos; cuts like buttah!
This thread amuses me.

This is a really odd place to be sometimes. Obsessions about the color yellow, bare feet and pickguards abound while carrots rein supreme.
I had a Markbass Jeff Berlin School Combo and matching NY cab.
First thing I did was take the logos off.
I can't remember the details, but I got it done quick and easy.

Black gaff will tone it down nicely and leave it in place should you decide to sell the cabinet.
Yes, they *DO* come off. You just gotta pry it off. That's what I did (many years ago when I owned a Markbass combo amp). IMO, that logo is hideous looking. I removed it as soon as I got that amp.
i successfully took mine off, and then replaced it when i sold it a year or so later. any kind of wedge is fine, maybe something like a drywall knife, or something else wide like that. it will take a little elbow grease, but be CAREFUL. it's just plastic, and some people are sticklers for that sort of thing and won't buy w/o it. I think i just used black sharpie on the grill if there were any spots of paint that came off, then never thought about/noticed it again.

All of you got my curiosity up, so I took off the grille from one of my cabs.
My logos are taped on, but with 3 extra dabs of some sort of mastic adhesive filling three grille holes.
The previous suggestions of dental floss, a drywall knife, or plastic automotive trim tool should work great. My logo plate came off easily, I used a little bit of heat to help, and should be easy to replace with 3M auto trim tape if I need to put it back in the future.
Since the grille came off with (4) simple phillips wood screws, I'm thinking of picking up some black grille cloth and wrapping the metal. It would nicely tone down the front look. All my cabs have Tuki covers, so I'm not worried about durability of the cloth. This would also be easily reversible if sold. I have a can of 3M adhesive remover spray we use for removing sponsor decals from a race car, which I may try on other cabs.

Just read through this thread and decided to take the logo off of the rig I have in my living room. I've always thought that the MB logo was a bit gaudy.
Came off with some prying and some Goo Gone. Half of the thin, foam, double sided tape that was used to stick it on stayed on the grill but it came off of both the grill and the back of the logo with a little more Goo Gone and elbow grease.
I think it will look cool with the head on top and my other MB 112 with logo underneath.
Going to leave the logos on my Jeff Berlin and 801 combos though.

Hmm... I have a Mini CMD 121P combo bought in 2009, so it has a B&C driver and a New York 121 cab bought a couple of years ago, which I don't know what driver it has. The setup sounds good.
Mine has the newer drivers. Sounds great. Maybe I'm missing out. Oh well.
If there is any difference at all it is most probably not perceptible. The tone is in the hands! Enjoy!
OK... Found cloth, looking for some sort of channel stock to hold the cloth to the grilles as I reassemble.
Does anyone have better suggestions than this?
