Removing Mustang Racing Stripe?

Did you find the Pawn Shop's 9 1/2" fingerboard radius more comfortable than the MIJ's 7 1/2"?

How did the humbucker pup sound compared to the split single coil?

Much more comfortable to me. The pickup is HUGE. Real middy with the tone open. Real thuddy medicine ball hitting the floor bottom with tone rolled off. Much louder than my active bass.

The overcooked vanilla? Really? I think its the furthest thing from classy. Lol

Well, like I said, to each his own. That's why they make different models.

I find the previous Mustang pups dull and lifeless.

I would rather have the MIJ in sunburst or Torino red, but the off-white is OK with me.

I'm fond of the split single coil pups, too. Plays great through a VT Bass box.

I'm glad we have the choices. Back in the 60's, Harley only made 2 or 3 different bikes (sportster, dresser, police). Now there's about 30 different models...

I unfortunately haven't been able to compare the two. No stores close to me sell the PS but all the research I've done leads me to lean towards it over the MIJ. The fingerboard radius on the MIM is what I like over the MIJ, actually. I wish they came with a P-neck but beggars cannot be choosers. I love the oly white as I've stated but that blue stripe is out of place imho. I'm not a fan of the sunburst, and if I have to go SB on any instrument, I prefer the 2-tone over the 3 (obviously not offered on the mustang).

I do enjoy how this thread has turned into a comparison between MIJ & MIM, as I am looking for more of the pros/ cons of each. Thank you everyone for your input.

According to Fender setup guidelines (and my own experience), the 9 1/2" radius neck requires little less relief than the 7 1/2", so that's another plus in the Pawn Shop Mustang's favor.
