Double Bass Removing Rosin From Strings?

use a quarter ans lightly scrape off the rosin then hit that up with a rag
thats what my bass teacher says, an she dont take no scruff!

My teacher told me to use #oooo grade steel wool it always takes all of the rosin off of my strings with very little effort. After i am done i use a rag or a sock to wipe them down even more and that does an awesome job. I sometimes use a copper scour pad if i cant find any steel wool.

Use a little Gin on a soft cloth to clean your strings after playing. Then use a lot of Gin on the soft palate.

I bought denatured alcohol todya and used it on a rag to clean my strings, and holy crap what a difference it makes.
