Repair cost for Ampeg SVT6 pro

The amp guy laughed and said “I’m guessing those wires aren’t factory”

here’s the busted up stuff he replaced...

He said the control board he had on hand was a newer version of the one on it.

You must live right. I was thinking the repair with NOS parts could have easily been twice that amount assuming new parts exist.

My other cabs are the PF-410hlf, PF-210HE, and the SVT-210AV. They are all wonderful.

The PR-410HLF puts them all to shame... by a lot...

I can't say I have a favorite between the GB, and SVT6. I haven't tried the PF-50T through the PR410 yet.

I'm half-heartedly looking for a 610, but I honestly don't think I need it, although it would be lighter than the PR....

I ordered this and if I don’t like it for this amp it will work for my shuttlemax, if I can find ears for it.

seems like it one of those perpetually on “close out” sites....

The case arrived. I would say it’s worth what I paid for it, but I’m not certain it is an “ata” case or if is named “ata effects rack case”.... kinda like “made in Usa, Japan”

I was kind of expecting it to have a carry handle on both sides but it just has one.

It does make the amp more portable, but JMJ it is soooooo friggin’ heavy... if I have to carry it, it will never leave the house.....

Silly question, what do I do with the ears sticking out of the back of the amp?

The ears on the back are part of the amp housing and wouldn't mount to the rack tabs.

all of it fits under the cover.

Considering a yorkville 8x8 now…

more than a want than a need.

4ohm from online specs, so it will pair with any of my heads as a standalone.

So the cab is officially the Yorkville xc808, 800w @ 4ohms

113lbs, so I’m saving 52lbs over a svt 810

15lbs lighter than my PR-410hlf

I only got to try the cab with my pf50t tonight, and I didn’t get to put her through her paces…

So the wheels on the cabinet made it much harder to get it up the stairs.

They were set inboard enough that they would "hook" on the next stair.
