I've found myself kind of falling out of love with my avatar 4x10 pre Neo and Ashdown Mag 600 set up. I just feel like there's not clarity and it's just doesn't sound deep. I also can't seem to really get a nice treblely sort of grunt prog rock sort of sound. I can't really decide if it's the head or the cabinet. I do think it's the avatar but I feel like I really have to crank the treble and high mids to get some bite from the ashdown. Now I've tried different heads and different cabs but I haven't tried a cab with my head and a head with my cab. I'm going to try and see if I can bring my stuff to a shop sometime this weekend.
I'm just wondering what do you think has the most effect on my overall sound, the cab or the head? Also what would you recommend to get a deeper fuller sound on a budget. I'm looking at the b4r since I loved the b2r I had in the past more then the svt ampeg line but the b2r wasn't loud enough. I however can't seem to find any b4r in the areas to try so I don't know if it'll be the same thing and how it would match with the nonneo avatar cabs, or if I should look into trying a neo cab.
