Replace Tuxedo - How Often?

Depends on the amount of stains and how many buttons have fallen off. I need a new tux jacket.

The bass covers up the rip that happened as the button got torn out.

I say find a tux at Salvation Army or some place like that. Why spend $$$$ when you wear the tux..once every 3 years???

A suit, sure, get a couple cheap $100 suits and also get yourself a nice $400 suit.

All a tux says is " I get to play extra shm*ck # 22 for the next 4 hours. "

There's a bonus in this situation. Since my brother and I wear the same size, we hand it off for the other to wear on different occasions.
To the suit makers of the world, sorry! We're being practical...:D

If you opt for classic lines vs. trendy lines, and keep it cared for properly, you should not NEED to replace it at all.

This.

I'll also go so far as to suggest that if you're wearing your tux for gigs only (and not, say, for your girlfriend's sister's wedding or your band's first appearance at the Grammy Awards show) that you can get away with a far greater degree of "un-cared-for-ness".
