Replacement neck opinions please

I have a Fender 70's Jazz Bass that I'm quite fond of. Unfortunately the neck is busted.

I was looking on ebay for a direct replacement (and considering other options). I found the proper replacement neck but I was also intrigued by the Fender Aerodyne neck (both fretted)...

Now I like the original neck in feel, playability and looks but I'm not a fan of the Bullet truss rod. I'm also kinda digging the way the Aerodyne neck looks on this bass....

I'm rather torn and would appreciate some feedback. One or the other or something else entirely? I'm trying to keep it within shouting distance of the $300 range.

I just inherited a MIA Jazz V (1995). I took it to the local luthier and he said the neck is fkd. I am exploring options. Where can you get an original Fender neck replacement (not interested in used ebay or CL stuff).

I would recommend getting a second opinion.

I love the feel of the aerodyne neck as I think its slimmer and feels like you can play faster but thats my opinion

I'd check out All Parts, USACG, and Warmoth as well as the TB classifieds if I were neck shopping.

This seller (reliablefender) on ebay has a lot of new Fender necks.

If you can get past the Squier name on the headstock, you should consider the neck from a Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar. I put the neck from one of them on a Frankenbass that i built and it gets more playtime than my Geddy! Super fast neck with rosewood fingerboard, pearl blocks, no binding for a more sleek look and a black headstock which would look great on your bass!

Half the price of a Fender neck.

+1. Warmoth is amazing. Kind of expensive, but you can build the neck of your dreams there.

70's necks have a one of a kind nut width so keep that in mind. That said, the Aerodyne's matching headstock looks really cool.

I think they also run an operation called The Stratosphere
I ordered a loaded MIM Strat HSS body from them and grafted it onto an older MIM neck and it fit fine
the quality was great and they are pretty much on the up and up
