replacement overdirve for a Bad Monkey

I've been using a Bad Monkey for a bit of punch and o/d when needed, but it really cuts out some of the bottom end. Its a great pedal for cheap but I'm looking for something a bit better and more bass orientated to replace it.

Been looking at alot of youtube clips and the best sounding one I've found so far is the Aguilar Agro, but its pretty expensive.

Any reconmendations for something that'll a step up from the Bad Monkey but maybe not as pricey as the Agro?

not sure what you mean? If I do a blend I won't get as much grunt as I want. I think the tone is the problem with the BM, its very middy with my bass.

One pedal I've also looked at is the Voodoo Labs Sparkle Drive, has the blend knob, but only heard clips with guitar so hard to make a call on it.

I love the Agro. I never found the Bad Monkey to cut lows like others have...in fact when I use mine I don't even have the low knob maxed out. I actually find that it loses a little high end that I miss.

If the BM is what you want, but with more lows, there are mods to be done. I owned a modded one and didn't notice much difference.

If you want to go with a different, but similar vibe, for cheaper than an Agro, find a used Way Huge Pork Loin.

Maybe hold out for a used Agro? I was recently impressed with Mark Latimour's clips of the [sfx] Red Dragon and the Fuzzrocious Dark Driving but they're closer in price to the Agro than the Bad Monkey. I guess the "best cheapest" od I've tried was the EHX Nano Muff.

I used a Bad Monkey for a while, sounds like I should mod it to make it Badder. Anyway, I switched to an HBE Hematoma a while back and it does the trick for me. Nice overdrive with a contour switch, plus a bonus clean boost section. Much better for me than the stock Monkey.
