I've been having some problems with my SRFF805. It has the BH1 pickups with the BEQ3 preamp. The blend control for the pickups cuts in and out. I was thinking of dropping in a Bartolini preamp. Does anyone know what preamp would be a direct fit? Is there a different brand that would be a better fit? I don’t want to end up with empty holes.
I've been using it in passive mode which I never really gave a chance before. I kind of like the tone in passive mode so I'm not in a hurry. I may just stick with passive mode and adjust eq with a DI/preamp. The blend knob works fine in passive mode so I’m guessing it is a problem in the preamp itself.
