Replacement Speaker for my Eden D118XL

Eden made the original- and they don't make an 18" anymore- so..... no Eden replacement speaker or parts for reconing.

Mine is buzzing when pushed- my speaker tech said nothing was torn, but that it's old and used and the outer area of the cone is buzzing- nothing but reconing can fix it according to him.

So I guess I'm looking at a replacement speaker.

I've got a very discriminating ear- I'd like to get something that sounds as close to as awesome as this was. We ran it full range stand alone and every bass player that played through it wanted it- really, really clear and low.

My speaker tech recommended the Selenium 18SWS800. I have no idea how it would sound- I'd be going blind.

Any other suggestions? It's going in the Eden cab.

Thanks in advance.

If it's the outer edge of the speaker buzzing, try reinforcing it with some vinyl window screen strips and flexible glue. If you can reinforce the back side, do that too. :bassist:

Maybe your speaker guy has some suggestions on the materials.

No downside if you're going to replace it anyways.

There have been other TB threads on fixing outer edges (tears, cuts, etc.).
