Replacing LEDs in pedals

Hey all, I've been using a Strymon El Capistan for a while now, and the LED for the crucial "tap" switch seems to have stopped working less than a week ago. I'd also like to modify some of my pedals that are working fine, just for a departure from the typical red light. I'm wondering if there's a particular type of LED for foot pedals and where I might be able to find them (if home depot or radio shack might stock em).

I also think my boss phase shifter uses a smaller light than the El Capistan, but I'm not sure. Any info would be appreciated!

Typically LEDs come in 3mm and 5mm. My local RadioShack has some 5mm diffused color LEDs that might work. They are definitely the size Boss pedals use, so if your Capistan is bigger it may not be a direct replacement but would still work. You'll get a better selection and better quality IME at an online place like mammoth electronics or pedal parts plus.

Remember that LEDs are diodes, so you have to pay attention to which lead is the anode and which is the cathode when replacing.
