Replacing Stock Fender Pickups

I got a Fender Deluxe jaz bass for Christmas and I really want to upgrade the stock pickups. I used some Seymour Duncans on my Ibanez last years and liked the sound. Before I go with them I figured I would ask the world for an opinion.

Any suggestions on which pickups would be best for my new Fender?

DiMarzio model Js were my choice for jazz replacements. I like them quite a bit.

I'm going the Duncan route for my P. I should have it sometime this week.

I've replace the stock pups in all my Jazz's with SD's...vintage, 1/4 pounders and lightning rods. They all sounded great although I'm obviously partial.

Lindy Fralins or nordstrands.

It depends what tone are you looking for...

I wanted a single coil, vintage sound pickup for my MIA Deluxe Jazz 5 and I was in doubt between Fralins and Nordies... I went for a pair of Nordy NJ5F which completely satisfied my expectations

Your question is kind of like asking us what our favorite flavor of ice cream is. We'll all like different pickups for different reasons. What tone are you looking for? What don't you like about the pickups in the bass now?

If you like the older sound of Jazz Basses then get fender 70's jazz pickups from fender.

After I posted it came to me that everyone is going to like different pickups for a million different reasons. My stock pickups sound flat to me, seem to humm a bit and have a "tinny" sound.

I could really hear a difference when I put the Ducans in my first bass. As a new bass player that is mostly into rock (and a little punk) I'll shop a round a bit before making the comittment.

Di marzio Ultra jazz are good. they seem to retain a good J sound while cancelling hum. I like those myself
Duncan makes some good ones too.
Fralins, Lollar, Etc.
You really have lots and lots of options.

Do you mean some old vintage 70´s pickups ? Fender is not offering these on their website.
