Request for Help: Pickup Distance from Nut/24th Fret Measurements

Hello Friends!

I am looking for some help with pickup placement for some of my favorite 4-string bass pickup configurations.

Would anyone be able to help me with measurements (in millimeters if possible)?:

1963 (or reproduction) Gibson Thunderbird IV Bass - Neck Pickup:

1. Measurement from the nut to the center horizontal axis of the pickup.
2. Measurement from the 24th fret to the center horizontal axis of the pickup.

Early 70s or Geddy Lee Fender Jazz Bass - Bridge Pickup:

1. Measurement from the nut to the center horizontal axis (line on which the pole pieces rest) of the pickup.
2. Measurement from the 24th fret to the center horizontal axis of the pickup.

Gibson Short-Scale Thunderbird Bass - Neck Pickup:

1. Measurement from the nut to the center horizontal axis (line on which the pole pieces rest) of the pickup.
2. Measurement from the 24th fret to the center horizontal axis of the pickup.

Warwick Thumb Bass - Bridge Pickup (Jazz pickup style):

1. Measurement from the nut to middle point.
2. Measurement from the 24th fret to the middle point.
3. Number of degrees left-hand rotation/tilt of pickup.

Aren't Thunderbirds and jazzes (of those years) all 20 or 21 fret basses?

They are, so I suppose the measurement from the 24th fret would be an estimate based on where the 24th fret would be on a 34" scale bass or just the measurement from the nut would do.

You might get more traction if you post this in the basses subforum. You're more likely to run across people who actually own these instruments and can lay a ruler down on them...

Placement of pickups qualative, neck , same distance from bridge as fifth fret is from nut. 24 fret, same distance from bridge as fourth fret is from nut. Bridge pickup, same distance from bridge as as 2 and half fret from neck.
Why? These positions help control harmonics on strings.
Any thoughts?

Because bridges tend to be adjustable, the 12 th fret might be considered. You can also measure from 12th fret for distances to 5th, 4th, and 2-1/2 fret positions.
