Resistance mods for limiting amp volume

Couldn't you just change the value of the pot?

That will not do what the OP is after. Usually full volume is the minimum resisitance of the potentiometer, close to zero ohms, and that will not change much with a different potentiometer resistance value. It would be more effective to place a resistor in series with the connection to the wiper of the potentiometer. Then the minimum resistance of the pot (full volume setting) would be that resistor.

When I was in school it was like b-string described.... If there was a teacher around everything was behind lock and key..... Gym equipment an instruments were in cages.. If it were something in a room, the room was locked..

Why do the kids NEED access when a teacher or supervision is not present?

And also I agree again with b... The year is irrelevant... If they can't learn how to use equipment properly, they have no need to be around it..

+1 I'm with B and I'm sick of hearing that making these kids responsible is not possible in "todays" time and if you can't move the equipment you can at least lock up the power cords modifying equipment so these future leaders won't destroy it seems extreme to me.
