Responsive flat/groundwound strings?

I love the lack of bright String noise that is afforded by flatwound strings but am bothered by their lack of responsiveness. I have not tried Thomastik Infeld strings, as some have commented they are too responsive. I'd love to hear some opinions.

When it comes to responsiveness, or dynamics, in a flatwound string, I would perhaps rate the TIs first, too. Then probably D'Addario Chromes, which are very versatile if you think of the ways you can play (pick, fingerstyle, thumb, palm muting, with a foam mute) and that they sound very different with each turn of the treble knob on your bass. Honorable mention to Sadowsky Black Label Flats, which can be described as a modern take on the classic, flatwound, LaBella sound. Probably my favorite flat all-round.

You're just gonna have to buy a set of the TIs to learn for yourself un the real world.

The initial cost is a bit high but they sound great for many years making that cost a relative bargain, in the long run.

Thanks guys. I am going to try TIs but would also like to try the chromes on another bass. I really like pressure wounds (rotos) on my EBMM but they are too clanky on my Moses Jazz (such a bright surface)
