You need to spend some time in Southern California. I work with ppl who have been in the Navy for 20+ years who have difficulty with basic sentence structure. During my wife's US citizenship swearing in ceremony, the lady next to her had an INTERPRETER.

Leaving ethnicity out of it, this is a statement that's been echoed for centuries. No one disputes the merits of home cooking.

That being said; Southern California > Most of USA in terms of Mexican food.
Yesyes, but there is a difference between refusing to learn and the inability to learn. Those who can't grasp the language doesn't expect other's to accomodate them in their own language either.
I swear they taste better if you have to order them in Spanish.

Caint unnerstaand you with all yer ching chang chong talk!
"Been to" = REALLY been to and thoroughly explored.
I've been to all three, too, you know. And I've got Mexican blood in my veins. My mom cooks better Mexican food than any restaurant you've ever been to, I'm certain.![]()

+1I have to agree. If you want to come here - legally - and take advantage of what the US has to offer, you can speak English.
I've been to Mexico extensively. Surfed everywhere from Cabo San Lucas up to the boarder. I've surfed on the pacific side of Baja penninsula and the Sea of Cortez side. I've also been to Todos Santos and surfed there. I've had many a meal at many a place in Mexico. I've been to San Francisco, I've been to Eureka, Marin County, Napa, Monterey, I've stayed at all these places many times. I've also surfed from Marin County down to the boarder, and most of the meals I eat after surfing are Mexican food.
No doubt you're mom is a great cook. If your mom lives up in NorCal, I can match her with many a mom down here in SoCal that cooks equally as well.
That leaves the Mexican restaurants. SoCal has the best Mexican food on the planet. I'm a expert at these things. I've lived in California longer than you have.(only because I'm older.
)

I think that the issue of whether or not citizens can/should/will speak English is one thing - do you all think that such a sign would off-putting to someone on vacation from another country who was not fluent or "conversationally comfortable" in English?
not nearly as off-putting as the majority of the population of paris. try ordering something there in english. lol![]()
