Reverb.com : Resolutions Issues

So recently purchased an item from Reverb for over $1000 and it arrived damaged. No telling what caused it, but I had to create a video demonstrating the issue to validate my claim. Fair enough. Now they're giving me the options: 1. Get it repaired and they'll pay. or 2. We'll knock off $200 for your trouble.

If they don't respond to my demand to refund my entire purchase, my credit card company will be getting a call and Reverb will never see my business again, unless they start flying straight. Anyone else deal with this line of bs with them?

I've seen other threads in here with similar situations and reverb siding with the seller. Be cautious and aware that it's a gsmble during these horrific supply chain times.

I bought a bass early this year with the plan that when I returned to the U.S. I'd have it shipped and if the seller got sick of waiting for him to ship it to my brother's house, I told him it would take some time as I wasn't sure when I'd get back. Meanwhile the prices started going crazy and about two months later the guy sold it for a lot more money and refunded my money with a 10% stocking fee taken out, Reverb made him pay up. I had the text trail to prove that we had texted back and forth and also that he was to ship it to my brother's house.

I'm kind of surprised reverb got into the middle of it right away instead of allowing you to try to work things out with the seller. I haven't bought from anyone on that site in a few years, sounds like a bit has changed.
Is "the item" not worth having repaired to your satisfaction?
