If I hold my phone at arm's length and squint a bit with my glasses off, it looks pretty good and could definitely be accidentally mistaken for a nice bass.
Yep a lot of what I see in the pics looks like experimentation or learning? This makes me think I could build instruments and someone would pay me for them. I mean, it can't be hard to surpass this, right? And someone paid for this... So therefore if I'm somehow marginally better, someone would pay me for doing this... Lots to consider, or not
I couldn’t agree more. It almost looks like a claymation version of a bass.I’m not joking when I say that looking at it makes me feel uncomfortable. Like watching spider documentaries uncomfortable.
At that budget a Sterling Musicman new is within reach, as are a bunch of other instruments. At a minimum, the way those 2 middle strings are wound makes me uncomfortable. I’d have to play it first, but I still wouldn’t spend that for it.
I could find a really decent bass for $530 shipped.
It’s a bass. That’s probably all the commonality Reverb needs. This is a recommended listing in the "New Listings You Might Like" section of Reverb. I am unfamiliar with Wishbass... not sure how I feel about this.

too bad they took down the vid of him demoing one of his fretlesses awhile back. nobody can make a bass sound like a cow mooing like wish!
this?
That could be said about Fender in the option of some.I've been seeing that guy's work since the early 2000s and it's not getting any better.
It's unfair to call it lazy when he's charging the low hundreds for fully custom basses. If you’re too lazy to do all the other parts of building well, omitting the time consuming work of putting in frets is just par for the course.
