reverb unit?

what is a reverb unit?
it just looks like a head to me.
but whats the difference?

If your referring to a Fender reverb unit, they do look like a small amp head but its just a reverb unit designed to use in addition with any amp to add the reverb (echo) effect. These types usualy plug in between the guitar and amp (or fx-loop) just like a pedal or other aditional effects devices used would. The most important diference here is these wont normally power speakers on their own.
