Finally got the Mark II out to a rehearsal. First thing I noticed is the output is great for a passive setup. My other bass had a bartolini 18 V (internal trim pot all the way down) and I could adjust my pre-gain on my amp to about 3 o'clock. Plugged in the green machine and it was clipping at that level. Had to back it off to noon. Now just slaps and pops get the clip light to flicker a bit. Getting to crank my amp up was a treat. The tone of this bass is amazing. The authority with which is speaks was unsuspected. Nothing about it sounds, feels, or acts like a short scale. I don't know if it is the brass plate under the bridge or what, but at this point I don't care. This is a versatile, light, playable, usable, preferred-size, roaring tone monster that just moved up to the starting position. Digging it!
