i think thats what they are called. to make sure we are on the same page, these: http://www.gwbasses.com/gallery/Dan_Bn_DC-1.shtml . i am curious of how they are compared to regular contours, as well as how you carve them. do you think it is a possiblity for my hollowbody bass? i have routed out the inside exept for wood for arm contour, with follows the curve of the shape of that par of the instrument, or like 90% of arm contours.

reverse arm contours?

Hi.
The contour seems to be concave, if that's what You mean. I can't find anything "reverse" in there.
Providing the link is a correct one of course.
The one and only time I did something like that was to cover up an eff-up. The bit bit a bit more than it should've, so I had to blend it in.
A belt sander was the tool of choice back then, and that or a flap disk on an angle grinder would probably be my choice now.

I just used a ferriers file to do mine, which has a concave arm contour. I'll be redoing it when I get my laminate though.
Yes indeed I also use a ferriers file, microplane rasp and random orbital sander. And nothing reverse about it. And absolute must IMHO for an ergonomic and comfortable playing bass.

could you show pics of the ferriers file? is the microplane rasp like a surform, or is is one of the drill press cheese gratters?

IIRC, a microplane rasp is similar to a surform, shaped like a file. Leave the cheese graters in the house
