Reversing a mod

Someone basically modded the bass I got before I got it, they modded the pickup wiring so that they could put in a series parallel switch, I wanted to remove this mod.
Basically they cut this yellow wire and extended the two sides all the way to the preamp cavity on this musicman Sabre bass. Is this reversible? Can someone just splice this wire back together?

Thank you, they also put in a 500k pot, someone wanted this thing to be super bright, sounds like a telecaster when you play past the 12th fret
