Double Bass Revolution Solo II - quiet G??

I've been using Revolution Solo II for almost 2 years, happy enough to keep using it (although I can't say it's perfect).

But recently I'm getting and uneven sound, G string is just too much weaker than D, A, E, while this is not true when playing unplugged. Playing Spiro Mittels.

Any recommendation?

Is this something that occurred just recently? Was the sound even across the strings before? If this is a recent change and the overall output level has not changed, then the fit within the bridge may have changed.

I've found that the Rev Solo is super sensitive in regards to the tone you get and where it sits in the bridge. Even a small shift can make a huge difference in sound. Try messing with it. I've had the same problem as you. My G sounded "hollow" and less loud than the E, A & D. Messing with the placement solved the issue. Once I got it sounding great again I grabbed a pencil and traced a box right around it so I would know exactly where it needs to be.

Hey.
Thanks for the input, I spent some time messing with the placement on the bridge wing and found a good spot once again, sounding very even by now.

Probably with the summer and current humidity here in Brazil the wood part changed in size and affected the fit, was almost loosen.

I also realized that my current bridge, Despiau Superieur, (which is awesome by the way) isn't the most appropriated for these pickups Underwood-like, the contact area with the pickup it too small since the wing is very curved.

Two bits of advice that I posted way back when are:

1) Mark the pickup once you find the sweet spot (as jwbassman already said).

2) Depending on how much thickness you need to add, a single layer of cellophane tape can work wonders. If that's not enough, try one on the front and one on the back.

If you need substantially more thickness, a sax reed apparently does the trick, as JimmyM says.
