I’ve got a Southampton Fifth Gear with a foot switch that’s starting to show signs of age. I never turn this pedal off. Ever. When I do, I get sad. But sometimes the signal crackles when I fire up my board and I have to cycle the switch a couple times to clear it up.
I’m thinking of taking the foot switch out entirely and wiring it so it’s just always on. I could imagine a world in which I rehouse the pedal into a smaller enclosure with trimpots instead of external pots because I also never change my settings, but that’s even more involved.
Thoughts?
