I have a G& L-2000 with MFD pickups that I bought a few months ago. It's about 10 years old. I recently had the electronics shielded by Mike Lull in Bellevue. Before that I was receiving KUOW-FM 94.9 through the bass in active mode (the transmitter is about two miles from my house). I don't know if it was doing this before, but I notice that it still picks up a lot of buzzing. It is independent of passive or active mode, and it is present on the bridge pickup and the neck pickup. I am monitoring it with a Tascam MP-BT1, so it is not plugged into anything with AC power. It goes away completely when I go out in the yard away from electrical interference. Sitting at my computer it is quite bad, but it is highly dependent on my position. If I am facing the monitor it is very loud, but at 150 degrees to the left it almost disappears.
We do have a lot of light dimmers in the house, and there's nothing I can do about those. Is there something else that can be done to the instrument? I have a Stratocaster with SCN pickups that is virtually silent at the same location, even when using only one single-coil pickup.
