@michaelwayneharwood - that's a significant step up in the quality of finish from your past projects I've seen. Well done mate. That's top notch!

How do I get the sound from my amp into my computer?Hey Ron, best bet is to get yourself a soundcloud account, upload the clip there, copy the address then used the 'add media' function (looks like a film strip) and past the address of the clip in the box that pops up.
There are a *lot* of options, but the easiest two would be to either get a USB based microphone and record with free software such as Audacity, or get a USB based audio recording interface and record the bass direct (or through pedals). The Focusrite USB audio interface has both a TRS and an XLR interface. Are you still using Linux? Thanks Michael. I'll check out the links. So I' guessing I'd take the xlr out from my VTRM preamp to the audio interface? I'll check it out.

Windows 7 at home, Gnu/Linux when on the road. The Focusrite USB audio interface has both a TRS and an XLR interface. Are you still using Linux?
I also use Win 7, and have a Focusrite USB interface, it works great.
Audacity and Kristal AE work fine and are free and easy, as is Reaper if you really want to dig in and learn lots.
If your amp-like device has a line out, you may be able to use a cable to go from there to the audio in on your PC.
Last night Rhiannon was delivered to @rondodunbar. I will leave it to him to provide details of fit, finish, and tone. Next on our plate will be a second bass, but this will be detailed in a separate thread in the months to come. Thanks to all who have provided encouragement and kind words, and most especially to Ron who has proven to be the epitome of the perfect customer.
Until next time....
