Okay, got to noodling around last night, about 20 minutes in my little Peavy practice amp took a dump however the impressions are; very woody sounding, nice deep thump, the fat neck and 7.25 radius are just the ticket for me
As for sound clips someone will have to tell me how to do that or show me to a link.
It is a beautiful bass, pics don't do it justice. Very pleased.

Hey Ron, best bet is to get yourself a soundcloud account, upload the clip there, copy the address then used the 'add media' function (looks like a film strip) and past the address of the clip in the box that pops up.

There are a *lot* of options, but the easiest two would be to either get a USB based microphone and record with free software such as Audacity, or get a USB based audio recording interface and record the bass direct (or through pedals). Some inexpensive USB options are these:

The Focusrite USB audio interface has both a TRS and an XLR interface. Are you still using Linux?

Windows 7 at home, Gnu/Linux when on the road.

Colored: Instrument --> Amplifier or Signal Processors --> XLR or TRS input on USB Based Audio Device --> Computer

I'd assess how much recording I'm planning on doing before buying an audio interface: if you're just doing the odd clip now and then to go up on sound cloud, then the output of the VTRM to the line-in (blue jack) on your sound card should be sufficient (I'd at least try it to see how it sounds)

If not (it sounds like crap), or you think you'll end up doing a lot of recording, then get a dedicated usb audio interface. My $0.02

I bought a relatively cheap, single channel USB interface for my mac. I use it way more than I thought I would, but not looking for anything more expensive. I have the tascam in the recording studio for serious stuff, but the individual usb thing works great for me.

That's a pretty awesome slice of life picture actually. Big burly looking grown man with tattoos and a Santa beard looking happier than a 4 year old on Christmas morning.
