ric 4003 just arrived!

I got a question for you guys... I've only gotten a 4003 recently, and it was only just returned to me from the luthier, so i havent had that much play time on it yet.

the bridge pup cover's already been taken out as I just didnt get along with it, and IMO, the sweetspot of that bass is right over the bridge pup, so, off with it...

thing is... Im used to resting my thumb on the pickups, but that bridge pup's assembly is HUGE! lol, its not very confortable, it seems I have to stretch a lot more in order to play on the D & G Strings...

have any of you had this problem? how'd you get around it?

just move you thumb and rest it on the e string....

Nice bass. I'm on a quest for one too. I did not realize what an undertaking it was to get a Ric in the U.K. It's a pain in the butt here. I can't imagine what it would be like on your side of the pond.

Man it looks fantastic....photo does not do it justice....

I must do a massive shout out to the bass centre in London. They were awesome in tracking this down for me. In little over a week they had found one and got it delivered nice one, can't recommend them enough! www.basscentre.com

Hey!!! Congrats!! I've read your previous posts regarding "thinking" about getting one. Isn't it sweet to now have it in your hands? Get ready for the compliments on the sound and the looks at gigs.

I don't think you'll ever regret buying "Ricky". A great bass and the color you purchased, MB, is fantastic. Leave the PUP cover on. You'll get used to it.
