Ric 4004L

Can anyone give me any minor details concenring a Ric 4004L neck?. I have no chance of checking one out and have read a few things which have me confused. Any idea of the neck thickness, some info I have read leave me to believe they are rather thick? The Ric site shows a 1 11/16 nut width, is this correct? The neck looks to have a min taper, is this correct as well? I also have read that RIC changed some of their neck profiles, does this apply to the 4004L as well? This particular model is from mid 2008. Any help would be most appreciated, tks

They also went to multi-piece necks right ? My late '08 cii ( same specs a L) has the 1 piece neck and is massive , not just thick and wide but massive  I dig it though ,while most hate them . I think they listened to the masses and made the change .

I have a pair of 4004Cii basses, and I love 'em! The necks are indeed a bit chunkier than the necks on my 4001C64 & my 4003, but I think they are still very comfortable, and I have no problem switching back & forth between the different neck profiles. As prevoius folks have stated, the new Laredos & Cheyennes have the same slimmer profile & 2-piece necks as the new 4003 basses, and the Ric humbuckers are great-sounding pickups - they have a lot of the character of Ric's single coil pickups, but with a beefier bottom end & zero noise. They are fantastic basses, & I think you would love one of the new slim-neck Laredos.

Wow great pair, specially the purple The model I am looking at was made in Mid 2008, thus I think it may have the wider, beefier neck
I appreciate your help
