Richard Patterson

Miles live around the world, patterson is killin' it along with foley on the piccolo. I don't think there's anything in the water in chicago, there has just always been an abundance of great players that you better have game before you even think about showing up. by the way I didn't see Nick Scnieder on anyone's chi-town list. He only scored a gig with Buddy Rich when he was 18. That cat is sick!!!!

Nick Shnieder play's mostly upright and we were listing mostly electric players,I'm sure one of the Chicago guy's on the DB side could come up with a hell of a list too. Chicago is not the only city with a distinct "vibe" to it's Bass players of course. Philly immediately comes to mind and Detroit, Memphis and the Washington D.C./Baltimore/VA area (I love playing with D.C drummers who come out of that go-go thing!) and of course New Orleans.

No need for a rip-fest, but I'm pretty sure larry gray is primarily a double bass player and he was on someone's list as well. happy holidays=)
Ok no problem, but I'm sure that both of them would tell you their main thing is Double bass but both of them are great players so it dosn't matter. 2 other Chicago doublers come to mind;Rob Amster and Johnathan Paul

Will, I'm honored, that you included me in the Chicago "Cats" for bass. By the way I check out this site once in awhile and a few years back there was a cat from Iowa, that said I grabbed his bass in Rock Island and made a lame comment. You came to my rescue and said, Ricky's a good guy but rubs people the wrong way or "strange". I agree!!!! Thanks
I was a little tipsy that night. but remember it. Ha. Hope all is well. I've gotta come out see your or Jauqo soon.
