is there anyway I can use my rick o sound output by just using one mono amp? I guess my question is this: is there a way to split the pickups using just one amp? is there a pedal or something like that I can get instead of lugging two amps to a gig?

I don't understand. Split the pickups into one amp? Isn't that what the controls on the bass do? It has V/T for each pickup.

No, unless you want to use a couple of pre-amps into a mixer before your single amp.
Just use the mono output until you have enough gear.

Just use the mono out with the one amp, and you'll have greatness. Stereo is just that, and without seperate speakers and processing for each side, you're not going to accomplish anything.

Sure. You could come out of the Ric stereo output with a stereo cable and combine the signal at the amp. Thing is, though, it will sound the same as if you just came out of the mono output of the Ric to the amp. The only thing it could buy you is separate EQ on the pickups if you went into separate channels on your amp, but I don't know if you'd hear the diff over just going mono.
