Rickenbacker 4000?

I searched. Seems to be a pretty rare bass, with only the bridge pickup...

does anyone here have one?

I have a 1974 Rickenbacker 4000 bass in Burgundyglo, it is a killer bass I would never part with. I bought it in 1978 for $300.

Mine has the set neck, not as desirable for some as the through-neck, which are more rare, as I understand.

If you can get one, do it. These were entry level model basses in their day, but to my ears and eyes, they are an amazing bass.

Seems to be a pretty rare bass.

If you're talking about the original version, they are super rare.

The info I have is that between 1957-1962, there were a total of 79 built. Pretty rare indeed.

The one pickup 4000 model was not a good selling bass ... there weren't a lot made.

My stepdad has a 70's neck through Burgundyglo. He prefers it to his Mapleglow 4001. Me too. I'd love to have one.
