Rickenbacker 4003 SW question

I've got a satin walnut version on the 4003 bass. The tone control knob on the Bridge pickup, when rolled down or even down all the way doesnt seem to make any difference in the tone.

Is this common with 4003's ?

The tone control on the neck pickup works fine.

Tone controls are supposed to do things. It's that the knob with the push-pull vintage switch? Make sure you set that right. Otherwise, it's time to lift off the pickguard and make sure everything is connected.
