Here is a nice Rick 4003S. It's in great shape. I swapped the neck pickup to a Nordstrand (original included) and the pickguard to black (original included). Plays well and sounds... well, it sounds like a Rick. It's a beautiful bass (the fingerboard is really a gem). I bought it last spring from a TBer here. I think the build date is 2022 or early 2023. Weight is a tad over 9 and a half pounds.

I'm selling it because it doesn't get the play time it deserves --I'm more of a Fender guy, so the "rick sound" is not really my thing, I guess--and because I'm selling several basses to fund a Fender CS Pino Precision. Price ($1800) includes shipping only to lower 48 USA. Preferred payment is Zelle. I'll also accept Paypay F&F (regular Paypal would need the fee added to my price).

Full disclosure: I'm not sure if this is an actual concern or not, but a few days after I got the bass, I set the truss (that is normal for my dry area). I set it and haven't had to touch it since--the neck relief is perfect for my preference. However, the truss was much harder turning than I'm used to. I don't know if this is typical for Rick basses (this is the only one I've had since 1984). I don't think it is maxxed out, because it turns hard both ways. But it did turn and all I had to do was slightly release and it has been perfect ever since -- just so you are aware before buying. Again, it functioned but was hard turning. The neck is spot on perfect right now and I've had no issues with it. Could just be typical, could be a bit of glue on the threads, etc. Don't know.

Yes, black poly, I think. It's not sticky on my hands at all. In fact, very slick. The only finish that tends to be sticky with my hands is the old-school nitro lacquer, which is not what this one is. It's some sort of poly, I'm assuming.

Okay, I'm going to put this on hold temporarily until I need to adjust the truss again (weather is getting colder and drier here). Like I mentioned above, I don't think there is anything wrong and the neck is perfect right now, but I don't feel good about selling a bass that even MIGHT have an issue with the truss rod. If any of you are really interested anyway, DM me. Otherwise, I'll set it back to for sale when I'm sure there actually isn't a problem.
