Glorious! I played only 5 strings for around 15 years - a couple of Yamaha BBN5s and then a Spector Legend - and actually went back to 4 strings because... I had to finally scratch my Rick itch and they weren't making 5s! No regrets, but I did have a pang or two when they came out with these soon after!

From what I’ve read elsewhere on TB, that reissue 4005V is about $5,000. They gotta pay for that new website somehow!!!

True, but Rickenbacker also has a 2 year back order on their guitars and basses. So the new website is paid for regardless.

I have no idea what a new 4003 costs. Prices aren’t visible at dealers and I’d have to request a quote. Anyone care to share what a new 4003 price range is?

Rickenbacker only gives MSRPs to the dealers and music stores that sell their guitars and basses. From there, each dealer / store can pick their price. Their MSRP for a 4003 is about $2,400 with today's inflation.

These are my two most played basses by a long shot. I have flats on the Rick and thin wounds on the P. The P is probably going to get the EMG Geezer treatment soon. I would love a number!

Thanks! Unfortunately, I never made a clip and the bass is long gone. It did cop the Ric sound though.
