Rickenbacker Bass 4001c64 Neck Issue

Hello,

As the title states I’m having an issue with my RIC bass. I adjust the truss rods to get perfect relief in the neck. It will stay that was for about a week but then I have to adjust it again because it is fretting out. So I make another adjustment to get it perfect and in about a week the action is way too high. This has been going on for about two months. I live in a mountain community that is pretty dry in the summer and snow on the ground in winter. Any ideas what could be going on and a possible fix? One good thing is I’m getting good at adjusting the truss rods. Thanks in advance.

Adjust it a bit, let it rest for a day or two and check. The secret is making small adjustments - ones that don't look like they are doing much, then letting the neck adjust to the change in rod tension. If it doesn't settle down you have a reactive neck - wood moves in relation to changes in relative humidity, some pieces more than others.
