Rickenbacker Components

Hi !

I play bass and guitar, so I've got a friend who well knows how to make guitars, and he wants to make me a double neck bass - guitar.

Now, I was searching some components for the bass part... And I like the rickenbacker sound, very trembly ! So what components should I buy ? Pickups ? Electronics ?

Thank you !

I think that if you want a custom built bass/guitar to sound like a rickenbacker, you should use exactly the same components (pickups, passsive electronics, bridge) and woods; but even with that, it's not guaranteed that this instrument will sound absolutely like a rickenbacker, i'm skeptical. You will have to buy parts here (which are quite expensive): http://boutique.rickenbacker.com/

I'm very doubtful about nailing that rick tone, but you can try, if you are willing to spend some money. If you end up with that bass, tell us how it turned out! Good luck.
