Rickenbacker converted into a 5 string bass

Ric 5,
I assume you are not modifying the neck or fingerboard in any way (except for the headstock)? Is the fifth tuner on the 4003W just centered between the existing tuner holes? Again, really nice work, looks like it was always there. Sorry to hear you got banned off the RR forum, seems likes everyone who actually knows what they are talking about eventually gets banned off there for Rick Heresy. I would have hoped they'd lighten up a little now that they don't have to suck up to John Hall, guess not.

No mods to the neck or fingerboard

The 5th tuner is simply centered between the other 2. Also the tuner type is changed to the smaller sealed tuners.

The RR forum is what it is ... I don't think they will change any time soon.

The real shame is that Rickenbacker doesn't make a 5 string bass ... or when they do either the pickups are too narrow or the strings are too narrow.

It ain't rocket science ... everybody else makes 5 string basses.

A 4003 or 4004 with a string spacing of 2 5/8" at the bridge and pickups that go 3" wide and a neck wide enough to handle the 5th string.

Heck the chinkenbackers from china even come in 5 string versions.

Oh no! You said chinkenbacker! You have heretically questioned the efficacy of a Rickenbacker product, and by extension, questioned the judgement of his most Exalted Presence John Hall! Now the lunatic fringe will have to chastise you harshly for even mentioning that most evil of all imaginable objects! You may as well ban yourself from TB now.

This is what is known as "sarcasm", not "trolling". My statements are what is generally known as "joking".

can I hire you to do this to my new 4003s, and if so how much do you charge ? My email is [email protected]

Generally a 4003 is $400 +/- depending on parts used. There are several ways to do it.
