Rickenbacker or no.... GAS

I gigged my March '73 and April '98 4001V63 (with vintage mods, a '60s magnetic horseshoe pickup, scatterwound toaster, plexi finger rest, C64 style pickguard, reshaped (more correct) HS PU surround, '66 TRC) this past weekend, one bass on Friday, the other on Saturday. Both sounded magnificant! The next gigs coming up will get the new 4004 Laredo Ruby NAMM Show bass,

Very cool bass ...

With a 4004 you can drop in Rick single coil pickups and wire it VVTT with stacked pots and you have a good replica of the 4001 tone and a nice modern look ...

My 4004 4-2-5 monty brown has that 4001 tone ...
