Hey guys, I'm a relative beginner, 45 yrs old and have a squier jazz for 8 months. Always since a kid, wanted a Ric....So after a particularly fruitful month at work in July, I did it... I bought a brand new 4003.....! Compared to the squier, the sound is phenomenal...but so awkward and uncomfortable to play....until I bought a non mod thumb rest off eBay from the USA....! The difference is unbelievable and I don't have to take the bridge pickup cover off, which, I think makes the bass look as it should.....!!!

I think you may be talking about my rest! 
I make the "Zero-Mod" for Ric which is on ebay.
There is another good product there too but it requires
removal of the cover.
