Ric's Losing Tune?

I have owned a lot of Rics ... they all stayed in tune better than most other basses ...

The only way a Ric would have problems with staying in tune would be if it had the cheap Grover tuners ... The Grovers look cool but they literally fall apart ... One of Geddy's 4001 basses had the Grover tuners he replaced them with something resembling a Schaller M4. Only a few of the Rics had the Grovers.

My '78 4001 sat in a case in a relative's basement for 20 years. It was still in tune when I took it out of the case, and the neck was perfectly straight.

Yep. I have a '74. I can play maybe 2 songs and then have to tune again.
