I am trying to put together a loud rig useful for metal. I've concluded that I really like GK, and I want the mid punch that comes from 10 inch speakers, specifically in sealed cabs. That leads me to want a GK 1001-RBII with an NV610. Simple enough? Well, I'm thinking of putting another cab under this, and running it with a seperate amp. This will accomplish several things (theoretically):
-Provides lots of speakers
-Provides lots of power
-Puts the NV610 at ear level
-The smaller rig will be used for distortion to dirty up the sound
-The smaller rig can be taken to my other gigs, such as church services and jazz shows
Right now I'm considering an Avatar B212 and a GK 700-RB as the small rig. The Avatar is smaller and more portable.
Keep in mind that my band has one guitarist with a full stack, 100W tube amp, and we play EXTREMELY loud, in drop C tuning. We are looking into a second guitarist as well.
I'm looking for any suggestions on what would sound good as the smaller rig, given their usage listed above. Also, looking for any wisdom regarding this insane idea of mine.
