Double Bass Right Angle 1/4" Cable Issues

I use the K&K Bass Max pickup system. The 1/4' jack for the instrument cable is clips onto the A & D strings betweeen the bridge and tailpiece. I have been using a straight 1/4' Whirlwind cord which works fine except - I also sing and occasionally the cord protruding straight off the front of my bass snags on the mic stand and knocks the 1/4" input jack off the bass (not good). I've recently tried two different right angle ocrds, but over the course of the show they begin rattling and send a nasty noise through my amp and the PA. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

One solution I find works. Start with a George L's cable with a right-angle end. This is a light cable and with a 10' length, it doesn't turn into tangled spaghetti on the floor. Add to that a velcro cable tie and strap the cable to the tailpiece. That avoids pulling on the pickup jack and stabilizes the potential for vibration.

I have used something similar to this , to get the angle out a little further from the bass . With the intent to stop rattling , etc.....
it may help...but it may need some dampening itself..

I got a short George L from one of my guitar players. Got two gigs the weekend of the 26th. I'll give it a whirl.

Perhaps the mic stand knocking the plug out of the jack has damaged the jack.

The cord stays in the jack . It pops the jack off of the strings.

That's where the velcro strap around the tailpiece help out. Also, consider sliding the jack down to the silks on the strings...less chance of rattling and a better grip.
