Funny,funny guy. I remember listening to his albums when I was a kid.
First guy to have a number 1 album with comedy. Two great shows.
I still laugh every time I hear " I'm Larry, this is my brother Darryl, this is my other brother Darryl".
94 is a good long run. What can you say about a guy who's best friend was Don Rickles?

I provided sound for him at a show here in Denver 30 years ago. His manager Vinny was pretty demanding. Definitely a character.

My parents always used to watch the Newhart show while having dinner and I sat and watched that show with them a lot. Bob was pretty funny but, I think Larry, Darryl & his other brother Darryl stole the show occasionally. I also liked his stand up stuff as well. RIP Bob, you are absolutely worthy of being a comedy icon.

I remember reading somewhere that Newhart was an accountant, and that he used to do his schtick to the amusement of his co-workers. Management, however, was not happy hearing laughter coming from the Accounting Dept. "It made them nervous."

Pat Williams did the opening credits, he has an outstanding album called Threshold that reflects that era. Great stuff. Drummer John Guerin and bassist Jim Hughart kill on it.

I was surprised at the number of mildly naughty jokes in the tv show. And they're funny without spelling it out.

I know of Bob Newhart because of The Big Bang Theory and For All Mankind. Then I read his autobiography book (I Shouldn't Even Be Doing This). Now I sporadically watch episodes of his show. R.I.P., Bob, you were one great entertainer.

Bob will be missed, he brought us some fine comedy. This is one my all-time favorite sketches.
