Super talented upright bassist/vocalist. They used to come through town regularly back then. At that time they were a kitschy Western swing-ish trio. Most people probably saw the old timey costumes and dismissed them as a novelty act, but once they started playing it was obvious they had mastered that sound. Killer players, perfect 3 part harmony vocals.

In the late 80's or early 90's, I remember Robert Lee (who made Clevinger EUB's) showing us the cactus shaped Clevinger upright that he made for The Dixie Chicks. I was not familiar with the band at the time, and did not know the name of the bass player until today.

According to Google, the bass is apparently permanently displayed in The National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame. I've searched for a photo of the bass but so far have come up empty.
