RIP to a true bass legend.
Yes, love Rickenbacker bass, I've just bought an old one from my buddy, it's got 2 inputs, I only use one, and it's beautifully made with a one piece neck and body.
May I ask a technical question, I posted a thread on this problem I'm having but as yet no replies .
I've only just started playing bass {been playing Classical guitar since 1995} after my buddy gave me his old short scale Kay bass, which I played through my 10 watt guitar amp, I wanted a proper bass amp, so I bought one, a Redwood 25 watt, sounds great, but won't start up after a period of time, it sometime pops into life and the red on light comes on, but then turns off, no connection between amp and speakers, I've sprayed all the inputs and checked the A/C plug and wall socket, nothing wrong there.
I manage to get it working by switching and plugging/unplugging from the wall socket, it eventually pops into life, then it's "perfect", this problem only occurs when it's been standing, unplugged for a time .
Any advice is welcome.
Change of subject, I went too see Motorhead in 1981 as a teenager, having just left school, I saw them play at Hammersmith Odeon, London.
I have a live record of that concert, it's called "No sleep til Hammersmith", I also saw ZZ top that same year at the same venue.
kind regards Russell Ward.
