RIP Moses Malone

Oh my, so sad to read about the passing of Mr. Malone. As a young guy, big and wide, I tried to model my basketball skills after him. 'A rebound and a point' we'd say.

I don't remember him much from the Rockets, but his first run with the 76ers is what I remember most. A little bit with the Hawks too. I remember when the Spurs got him, but I think he was mostly done by then.

Thank you Mr. Malone for all those great memories, and indirectly making me a better basketball player.

I am very disappointed that the sports media talked so little about the sudden death of a truly great player. In his prime, he could go toe to toe with anyone.

As a Celtics fan from the early to mid 80s I remember my heart sinking when the Sixers got him from Houston. The dude was a BEAST. For me he was the most feared player in the NBA at his peak. Couldn't stand the C's having to go up against him in division but respected the hell out of his game. RIP

I think Erving retired before Barkley, but Malone and Barkley were teammates.

Dr. J and Barkley did play together--I recall both were involved that time Larry Bird got punched on the court (think he talked too much trash, they all later made up). Not sure if Moses was on that team.

Edit: Just found a clip, Malone was part of it, too.

Fortunately, NBA TV has been all over it. I forgot how nimble he was. Thank God for film highlights!
