RIP Tim Bogert

I liked Tim's play and Tone. It won't change from now on. These are my collection on Tim.

RIP Tim

This is pretty late to the party but RIP, Tim was a phenomenal player who could deservedly lay claim to the title of "the American Entwistle". Inventive and groovin' player who never lost his incredible chops. A great loss to the bass world.

For sure - and never to late to say so! :bassist:

John Voorhis Bogert III

I'm pretty sad tonight, as somehow, I only learned of Tim Bogert's passing this afternoon, May 28. I didn't see it here on TB, obviously. In doing some web searches, it was pretty much everywhere. I don't know how I missed it.

Boy, that guy could play rock bass like nobody's business! I listened to tracks from the first and only BBA studio album earlier today. I never tried to learn those songs in 1973 when the album came out, because I was just starting out on bass then in high school. But, the things he did on some of those songs, I hear me doing today. The attitude and tone and how he embellished the parts have really stuck with me. I also loved the rather obscure Cactus albums.

He's one of those giants of the 70's that were amazing to me then, and certainly still now. Rest in peace, brother Tim.
